I always feel very privileged when I am invited into a family’s home to take their portraits. It’s such an intimate setting, and to be welcomed there is wonderful. This time was no different. I loved working with this family, and in particular their three beautiful girls – each of them quite alike, and yet with their own unique personalities too. These portraits were taken as part of a mini session on the first really cold day of this fall. You wouldn’t know it from the girls bright smiles, but everyone was freezing! We improvised from our planned “playing outside” session and spent quite a bit of time indoors – but with the front door open to capture the fading light of a late fall afternoon. Everyone was such good sports – did I mention we were all COLD? – and I left feeling honoured to have been a part of the laughter and silliness and to have witnessed the love they all share.
