15/52 – Back to the “usual” this Saturday morning. Another sports complex, another soccer game. This one was the last of the indoor, winter rep season. He’s usually there early, as his dad’s the coach and is busy with administrivia. But he likes it this way, for as much as he likes the banter of the crowded dressing room, he also likes the quiet before. It allows him to practice, alone, and to focus; to get into his “game head,” he tells me. Truth is, he’s always thinking about the game – the current or the next. And he’s always practicing – often with his body, but always, always, with his head.
