24/52 – Our American besties came up to Toronto to visit us this weekend.  My girlfriend and I took the kids down to the river thinking that they’d be able to wade in it or skip stones like our family had done just a couple of weekends ago.  Not a chance this time.  The recent dump of rain in Toronto has swollen the river and made it angry; the water was racing by us and far too high to get too close to the edge or try to skip stones (Miss I is actually on a ledge 20 inches up from the water here).  Scary, and a good lesson too, to sometimes be reminded of the power and force of nature.
