3/52 – Story time is my favourite thing to do with each of you, especially on a dreary winter day when I’m nursing a bad cold and have very little energy to do much. Sometimes I pause and wonder about how many hours I’ve logged reading to you; how many books we’ve read and reread and reread again.
Today, you read to me. It wasn’t the first time you have, but it was the first time that my mind drifted to the thought of you reading to your own little one some day in the future, and then to that child one day reading to you. Slow down time! Be still for the moment. Let me listen only to your sweet voice carefully saying and sounding out each word and feel the warmth of you in my lap while you still want to snuggle close.
